iCubis History
iCubisy History
iCubis was started with a very simple vision: We wanted to create a system that seamlessly brings together idea people and inventors with the industries that needed them. Most importantly, we wanted to provide a tool that provided each person using it immediate worldwide exposure and feedback while keeping the owner of the idea in total control of how they expose their idea and to whom.

The actual genesis for iCubis came from many years of lessons in the invention industry, the last ten of which have been in the internet era. We also conducted numerous searches and have harvested at least anecdotal evidence that no tool like this exists. Project team members have compiled hundreds of web sites related to this industry including: invention and inventor services, intellectual property (IP) issues, industry scam advisories, and general inventor, technology and innovation advocacy and encouragement groups. To date nothing like the iCubis methodology has been found, leading us to believe iCubis is a unique idea for safely dealing with unprotected ideas prior to – or exclusive of -- the costly patent stage.

Joseph Shumaker first conceived of this notion after participating in the 1999 NYC Toy Fair. He imagined a much better process for prescreening new ideas and prototypes that would save everyone a lot of time and effort at fair time. He has matured and expanded that initial idea to create iCubis in an effort to help not just inventors but anyone with a new creation or idea.

2008.03.28 It has now been more than a year since iCubis first launched.  Almost no marketing was done - as there was no money in the budget to do this and the effort won no more grants to do this.  Traffic is quite limited to the site though a few people do use the site.  The site creator is not quite sure what he will do next with it.  iCubis only works - to its full potential - if many people use it.

Please help by telling others about Cubis.  Thank you.
